After midnight tonight citizens and government officials in NYC will all be able to view public data uploaded from city agencies all in one portal. One year ago today, Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed an open data law that by 2018 will require agencies to make as much data public as possible. There are already hundreds of data sets available including restaurant inspections and names given to newborns. The next deadline for the initiative will be in September.
