				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Membership flash sale sites like Brooklyn-based <strong>Gilt Groupe Inc.</strong> and NY-based <strong>ideeli Inc.</strong>, are expanding from limited sales of luxury goods, to include services like spa trips and high end food items. The total number of visitors to sites like Ideeli, Gilt, <strong>Haute Look</strong> and <strong>Rue La La</strong> in July was 213.6 million, up more than 9% since July 2009, <strong>ComScore Media Metrix</strong> said.</p>
<p>One way for these sites to keep shoppers interested, while reducing inventory, is to turn to experiences or services. Gilt&#39;s NY City Division, now in beta but expected to launch next month, offers discounts at the <strong>Townhouse Spa </strong>and the <strong>Brooklyn Museum</strong>.&#0160; Ideeli introduced ideeli Access this summer and a localized New York segment goes live in September.

<p><strong>CBS</strong> has been more actively pursuing means to enhance its digital presence.&nbsp; Here in NYC, they have launched the <a href="http://www.nyconvergence.com/2008/06/wcbs-launches-o.html">CBS2 New York Network</a>, a revenue-sharing network which allows participating bloggers to display a <strong>CBS</strong>-branded widget with local news.&nbsp; <em> [Editor's Note: <a href="http://www.nyconvergence.com/">NYConvergence</a> is a member of the network.]</em></p>
<p>Also, the recently completed $1.8 billion acquisiton of <strong>CNET</strong> is paying off in spite of critics&#8217; complaints about the price.&nbsp; <strong>CNET</strong>&#8216;s traffic has made <strong>CBS Interactive</strong> the<br />
eighth-largest Web property in terms of traffic, with about 160 million<br />
global unique users monthly.&nbsp; Prior to the deal, <strong>CBS<br />
Interactive</strong> ranked 24th prior to the deal.</p>
